Preschool church programme - Eng. and Afr.

Pray for wisdom and guidance before you start planning your preschool church programme. Ask people to pray for you when you present your program. Prepare the room where you will have the preschool church beforehand and get people who can help you while you present the programme. Be at the place early so that you are ready when the preschoolers arrive.
Theme: Bible lesson – Gen. 1 – God is the Creator of heaven and earth
Main truth: God made everything, let us worship and praise Him.
Devide your program into 3 parts:
A. Pre-activities for about 15 minutes
B. Singing, Bible Verse and Bible lesson – 30 minutes
C. Fun and games and refreshments – 15 minutes
A. Pre-activities – 4 places or tables where preschoolers can go for this. As preschoolers come in, give them a name tag and let them go to one of the 4 pre-activities. Ask helpers to help them and also to talk to them about what God made.
1. Nature table and sand pit where preschoolers can play with animals, plants and sand and make a farm or zoo
2. Play-dough table – where preschoolers can make animals and plants, sun, moon and stars with clay
3. Paint, crayons, pencils table – where preschoolers can draw or paint pictures of creation
4. Magazine and puzzles table– where preschoolers can cut out pictures from old magazines about
things that God made and make a collage or build puzzles.
After 15 minutes you can ring a bell or start to sing a song so that they know they have to clear-up
and come and sit in front of the one who present the programme.
B. Let the preschoolers sit in groups with your helpers. That is better for discipline and helpers can help you to distribute pictures or music instruments, etc.
Songs: 1. God is so good. 2. My God is so big. 3. He’s got the whole world in His hands.
Variation: Sing with music instruments or sing with a CD
Bible Verse: Gen. 1:1 – “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”
Let the preschoolers repeat the verse with hand motions. Let them do “crazy standups”: those who are bare feet repeat the verse, or those with white shirts repeat the verse, or those who brushed their teeth repeat the verse, etc.
Bible lesson: Creation
Introduction: Close your eyes and tell me what do you see? Nothing? This is how God started to create everything – it was dark and empty.
We are going to read from the Bible how God created everything. Show the Bible and tell them that the first book in the Bible tells us everything about how God created the heaven and the earth:
First day – light and darkness
Second day – Water and sky
Third day – land and sea – plants and trees
Fourth day – Sun, moon and stars
Fifth day – Birds and fish
Sixth day – Animals and the first man – Adam
Use the drawings and paintings and clay animals that preschoolers made beforehand as you talk about creation. Use their senses to touch things like leaves and smell flowers and listen to sounds and eat something like pieces of apples, etc.
Application: God is the Creator of heaven and earth and made everything in a special way. He is our Almighty God and we have to worship and praise Him and Him alone.
Sing the song: “My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do.”
God commands us in Exodus 20 that we must only worship Him and no other god or idol.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you that you are our Creator God and that you are Almighty. Help us to love you and worship you alone. Help us to appreciate and enjoy everything that You made.
Repeat the Bible Verse and sing a song
C. Games and refreshments: Let preschoolers enjoy sandwiches and fruit juice and play games or play on a jungle jim, but have helpers to watch them while they play. They can also play with the animals in the sandpit that they made in the pre-activity time.
Someone has to be at the entrance door to see that preschoolers only leave the room when their parents turn up to fetch them.

Deel jou program in 3 dele in:
A. Vooraf-aktiwiteite sowat 15 minute.
B. Sang, Bybelvers en Bybelles 30 minute
C. Speletjies en verversings laaste 15 minute.
A. Vooraf-aktiwiteite in 4 groepe.
Sodra 15 minute verby is, lui ‘n klokkie of begin sing ‘n opruim-lied: Opruimtyd, (2x), Kom nou hier (2x), Ons gaan sing en luister (2x) Kleuterkerk begin (2x) (Wysie Vader Jakob).
B. Almal bymekaar. Sit in vier groepe by helpers.
1. God is so goed (3x) Hy is so goed vir my. (Met gebare) 2. My God is so groot 3.
