Review Games or Quizzes
  1.  Question Marks:  Make big question marks from felt or construction paper and place them all over the flannelboard or black board.  As a child answers a question, he turns over a question mark.  On the back of the question marks, have written 1. Sorry, 2. Try again, 3. Winner, 4. Jack-pot.  Give a sweet for winner and something larger like a packet of chips for jack-pot.  At the end you can give something small for everyone as a prize because they participated or behaved so well!
2.     Longest string:  Cut yarn into 12 different lengths and put each piece through a cup of an egg carton with only a short end showing on the bottom.  Children get to pull a string of yard as they answer a question.   A small prize can be given to the child who ends up with the longest string of yard.  For variety, cut another yarn the exact length of one of the pieces in the egg carton, and put it in your pocket.  The winner would be the one who pulls out the string of yard the same length as the teacher’s.

3.     Balloons:  Make 12 balloons from different colours of felt or construction paper.  On the back of each balloon, place a small piece of masking tape with a number on it (1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000).  Carefully tie a string or thread around the neck of each balloon, and place randomly on the flannelboard.  Divide the class into two teams.  As a child answers correctly, he may choose a balloon.  The number on the back is credited to his team.  The team with the most points is the winner.

4.     Secret message:  The object of this game is to discover the secret message.  Have a long piece of paper with blank lines to fill in e.g.  L_ _ e _h_ L_ _d (love the Lord).  When a child answers a question correctly, he picks which blank the teacher is to fill in with a letter.  See how long it takes to guess the message. If time is short or the children are not seeing the message, let the children who answers a question correctly call out two numbers.  If a child sees the secret message shortly after you begin the review game, ask him not to say it out loud, but to wait and find out if he is correct.  At the end of the game discuss the meaning of the message.

5.     Ice Cream cones: Cut out cone shapes from felt  or construction paper.  Make 10 “scoops” of ice cream from various colours of felt or paper.  Divide children into two teams.  For each correct answer, the team receives a scoop of ice cream on their cones.  The team with the most “scoops” is the winner.

6.     Dot to Dot:  on a piece of paper, draw a series of horizontal and vertical dots.  Divide group into two teams appointing a captain for each team who will draw a line between two dots each time a correct answer is given.  The team which puts the last line on a box may claim that box for its own by drawing a symbol or letter inside the completed box.  The team with the most boxes wins.  Set yourself a timer or time limit and play only until the time is up.

7.     Zip-zap:   Make 10 blue, 10 green and 5 yellow cards with a star on top.  On the other side you write zip on 10 blue, super zip on 10 green  and zap on 5 yellow. Keep all the cards in an envelope.   Zip counts 100 points, Super Zip counts 500 points and zap means you loose all your points.  After answering a question correct, a team can pick a card from envelope and you keep track of the score on the score board.  Either add 100 or 500 points or loose all the points!
