Quiet time with the Lord

How to spend a few hours of quiet time with the Lord:

· Be still and read Ps. 27 and Ps. 62.  Write down which verses speak to you and make them your prayer.
· In the light of God’s goodness and greatness, think about your smallness and weakness and confess your sin  (wrong deeds, words and thoughts).  Ps. 25:7-9, Ps. 51.
·Praise and worship God with Psalm 145.  Write your own praise song and thank God for His Goodness and mercy.
·Read John 14 and 15 and write down what the Lord Jesus said about God the Father.
·Pray the 7 prayers of the Our Father prayer and use your own words: 1. Hallowed be Thy name – worship God. 2. Thy Kingdom come – pray for that in your life and in other people and countries. 3. Thy will be done – pray for that in your life and your family members’ life and your country and world. 4. Give us this day our daily bread – pray for your daily bread and other people’s needs 5. Forgive us our tresspasses – pray for forgiveness in your life and other people’s lives 6. Lead us not into temptation – pray that the Lord will protect you from temptation as well as other. 7. Deliver us from the evil  - pray for the Lord’s protection from evil for you and other
·Read Romans 8 and see what the Spirit-filled life looks like and give yourself to God as a living sacrifice – Rom. 12:1
·Pray Efesians 3:14-21 for yourself and others.

Prayer in Andrew Murray’s book “Holy in Christ thoughts”:
“Let the fear of Thy Holiness make me tremble at all there is in me of self and flesh, and lead me in my worship to deny and crucify my own wisdom, that the Spirit of Thy Holiness may breathe in me.
Let the fear of the Lord give its deep undertone to all my coming in and going out in Thy Holy Presence.  Prepare me thus for giving praise without ceasing at the remembrance of Thy Holiness, O my God!”
