- Use a white
table cloth
- Make red
material or paper hearts and use as place mats
- Use white or
green or red crockery and put glasses at each place. In the glasses put red or white
serviettes
- Lay the table
neatly with all the crockery and cutlery and glasses.
- On the white
table cloth in the middle of the table you can place black and white and
red hearts
- Make some
golden cardboard circles or golden paper doilies and arrange on the hearts
in the middle of the table
- On the hearts
and circles in the middle of the table put some green ivy or any other
leaves. Use also pine-cones that
you spray with golden paint on the green leaves.
- Use white,
green, red, black and golden candles among the leaves in candle holders
- Use golden
ribbon and place them from the golden circles in the middle of the table
to the side-plates at each place around the table
- On the sideplates place your own crackers that you make yourself and add a Bible verse like John 3:16 or 17.
Start your
Christmas meal with a fruit dish in a small champaine glass. The fruit must have the five colours or the
wordless book e.g. use yellow melon pieces, black currants, red watermelon or
cherries, white litchies and green grapes.
Decorate with green mint leaves and a red cherry on top!
Explain
the gospel message with all the colours on your table like this:
- Gold – reminds us of God our King. He is our Creator God and made everything
including you and me. Hy lives in
Heaven and He is a Holy God who has no sin and hates sin. He is a God of love and because of His
love we celebrate Christmas! - Read John 3:16
- God wants us to
stay with Him in Heaven but the black or dark colours on the table tell us
that we as people are sinners – born with sin and cannot go to
heaven. Sin is everything that we
do or say or think that make God sad.
We are all born in sin – Rom. 3:23 and as a result cannot go to
heaven.
- The red colour
on the table tells us that God sent his Son the Lord Jesus Christ to earth
as a sacrifice for all the sins of the world. He was born in Bethlehem – the first
Christmas and the angels shared the Good News to the shepherds who went to
Bethlehem and worshipped the Messiah.
Jesus died on a cross at the age of 30 and His blood was shed to
cleanse us from all our sins. 1
Cor. 15:3-4
- The white or
clean colour on the table tells us that we can confess our sins to God, we
can ask Him to cleanse us from all our sins. We can also ask God to help us to
believe in Jesus Christ as the Saviour of the world and invite Him into
your life. If you do this, you can
know that you become part of God’s family – His child. (John 1:12)
- The green colour on the table tells us that we have to grow spiritually. You can grow spiritually by reading your Bible, praying to God, your Father, witness to others about the Lord Jesus Christ, confess your sins the moment you do or say or think wrong things and worship God in an Evangelical church with other believers. 2 Peter 3:18.
Decorate your
Christmas tree with the 5 colours of the wordless book of CEF:
Make golden circles, red
and white and black hearts, red crosses and hang them all on your tree with
golden or green or red ribbons. Cut out of paper small green hands and number the fingers 1
– 5 and write on each finger how you can grow spiritually: reading Bible, pray,
witness, confess and worship.
The 2 gifts next to the tree on the table have 2 Bible verses on them: the one John 3:16 - this is our gift from God to receive Jesus Christ. The other gift has got the Bible verse Rom 12:1 - we need to give ourselves as a gift to God every day!!
